Coast Spa recalled one model of pump motors that had a possibility of fire. Mine was one of them.

I was told the motor would be replaced in 3 months, until then drain and do not use the spa. The pump came in and I was charged $50 to replace it. I paid it with much complaining. Then my topside controller quit working.

I was told I could buy a new one and they would send the old one back. When the old one is replaced I would be credited. I paid $281 and installed it myself. 4 months later and all I get is "we haven't heard from Coast Spa yet".

I contacted Coast directly and so far have recieved nothing. $10,000 Tub with 5yr warranty. I don't blame just Coast I also blame my dealer, Spa and Billiard World in Albuquerque.

Warranty with no service is worthless.

Our house just burnt down. The fire started outside, in the vicinity of the Coast Spa hot tub.

All preliminary evidence shows that the hot tub caused the fire. The tub was purchased in 2008. Would retailers have residual models for purchase from the 2002-**** era?

Is this situation elegible for a lawsuit?

Plus I agree that the head cushions degraded fast, the paneling where the companies lovely name rest had water damage, jet nozzels would constantly fall off, and the cover also degraded fast.

It sounds like you had a bunch of bad dealers...Things will go wrong with all spas - I have had three of them and I am going on to my fourth now. You have to look into the warranty when you buy a spa - I made this mistake my first time too.

A spa warranty will not cover the cost of technicians to come to you - and you clearly cannot just bring your spa to them (like you can a car!). I have owned two Coast Spas (currently still own one) and I am strongly considering my third now - because I have found they have the best to offer for the price.

I have not had to use the warranty much, but our local dealer had to come out a couple times in the last 10 years for service.

You do not have to do anything for warranty - your dealer does. :grin :grin

I'm in my 5th year of my "greatest hot tub on earth"...If your shopping coast, move along. If you live in N.E Ohio, forget it.

My pump just failed,Open the access cover and it appears this pump want new with the tub. Looks like our dealer(now in medina)may have robbed peter to pay paul...Mine appears to be rebuilt , not new. Further, had manifiold replaced after yr 3 for leaking, what a disaster and questionable service.

I look at the paid invoice now and want to cry. The coast "system" sucks.

I am a dealer for Coast Spas in the UK and none of the above makes sense to me. Of all the companies I've dealt with I've been most impressed with Coast Spas for warranty support and the quality of their goods to start with.

It's a shame that people who've had issues are always more likely to post than those who've had great experiences, of which I imagine there are far more. All of our customers are delighted with their Coast Spas and where there have been any issues (of which there have been very few) Coast jumped when we've said jump and the warranty part etc.

has been received in really good time. Perhaps the other US dealers that have posted didn't get the same support but I'm delighted to be selling Coast here in the UK.

We were considering taking on Coast spa as our 2nd line, but after reading all these complaints, I think we'll keep looking. Thanks for the imput.

I bought an Helios hot tub 2 years ago, I replace 10 jets and now the pillows are completly scrap. Pumps and the rest work fine... Customer service is very bad, as soon they have your cash the waranty is finish...

They don't have any customer service and my dealer is bad too.

I'm living in Kitimat, British Columbia

Coast is as crooked as the day is long. They love you until they have your money - after that the relationship is over.

Within 14 months of delivery one of the monster pumps died. The dealer I bought if Four Seasons went out of business. Shouldn't matter because this is still covered by manufacturer warranty. Try to get any of those people in northern Canada on the phone.

It cost me over $700 with promises of reimbursement, this was back in 2002. Since then I've had 5 techs out to repair leaks. If it can't be fixed by the access panel forget it because the foam is injected into the walls and they can't be removed. The tub has been a POS from the beginning and Coast will not stand by its product.

Since they are in Canada there is no touching them here in the US. The Coast Silver Paradise was a terrible mistake.

It cost over $6000 to buy and a couple thousand more after in repairs. STAY AWAY from Coast.

ron you're a liar and work for the company. the product is S&%T and from Canada wow what an ***. never buy anything from these people Hey.

My experience with Coast Spas has been a great one. I used to own a CAl Spa and I had nothing but problems with the thing leaking and never seem to get a proper response from them.

Since then I sold that spa and purchased a Coast Spa.

The performance is great and the service that I have received from my dealer as well as the manufacturer has been above and beyond what I would expect in comparison to what I had. I have recommended this company to family and friends and so far so good.

I've had my coast spa for 6 years. Had a problem with the fiber optics when I first got the spa but the dealer in the Cleveland Ohio area came right out and fixed it.

I also had the recalled pump but didn't wait overly long for the new one and everything is working fine since. I use Nature two and clorine and my jets are fine. Never replaced one. After reading these jet problems I took one out and took it to the dealer and it looks like a new one.

My dealer showed me the new and also ones damaged by chemicals.

They are all covered by a chalky residue and are thin and brittle. I would suggest using Nature 2 and chorine

Patty, check your calcium level. Calcium build up will disolve the plastic jets.

I was a dealer, we lost THOUSANDS of dollars for doing warranty work which we were never reimbursed. Stay away from their spas.

The good ones were good, the bad were lemons and they do not stand behind their spas. The dealer is left holding the financial responsibility.

My Manhattan Sytle Coast Spa was mfg'd. in 04/06, and installed with Arizona Spa & BBQ doing 95% of the work.

Since that time, I have replaced 2 top-side control assemblies, and I paid for and installed the current one myself. Now I have cracking of the shell (some minor less than 1", some a little more significant) in the tight radius near the upper surfaces.

There is no dealer to service or inspect, since they went out of business. Coast wants me to pay to remove the spa, ship to Canada, and pay for the shipping back, along with the re-install.

So my $9,600 spa is a lemon, and I need a good, local attorney to go after the jerks at Coast who know full well I needn't ship the spa back to prove the shell defects. They only demand that so I will go away.

The warranty says "right to inspect on location" which I verified with the dealer, was my location, not their's. I would ship the moters back, and cut up the rest, and pay for all the rest....though what a pile of ***.

I agree, Coast Spa DOES NOT honor their warranty. Our dealer went out of business and trying to contact Coast is near impossible.

The pump failed under warranty but we they wouldn't cover it. We had it replaced at our expense and now it's out again, two years later. As for the jets, we've finally started buying in bulk....most have now been replaced.

The plastic is extremely brittle, and like others, we followed the dose of chemicals described. Bottom line, Coast spas are not of quality workmanship or service.

Guest

What is with the jets in these spas. The jets seem to disolve even though we are following the chemical levels very closely. Then to get replacements is a pain.

Guest

We have received the same lack of customer support from Coast Spas and their dealer Spa & Billiard World. $50 trip charge to review our spa motor and jets still under warranty.

Waiting six months for a replacement motor. Just because a company may be the largest, doesn't always translate to the best customer service.

Coast Spas has one of the very best warranties in the Industry. Each Warranty is clearly stated and given to each consumer with there new Spa.

Follow the Warranty.....
